The Team
We think that you might like to know a little more about your hosts and the team here at the Wheatsheaf. We all aim to be helpful and friendly but are sensitive to those that want a quiet time and like Greta Garbo want to be alone! For others there is the bar to enjoy.
Paul’s background included an international career followed by various directorships in training and enterprise including an enjoyable stint with the Prince’s Business Trust. Paul currently enjoys inn keeping in the Dales.
Carol held a variety of catering positions in charities and restaurants prior to acquiring the Wheatsheaf and she has ensured that the Wheatsheaf’s food maintains a high standard and retains traditional Yorkshire authenticity. We ensure the maximum use of fresh produce, cook all our own meals and above all are mindful of obtaining good value for money for the customer.
Emily, Paul's daughter is our talented cook who has worked with us at the wheatsheaf on and off over many years, she became full time in 2011 and continues to provide our guests with delicious home cooked delights!
Claire joined us in September 2010 as a full time manager of the wheatsheaf, giving us, the 'Parents' a little more time to enjoy the beauty of the Dales ourselves. She previously worked for Nandos in the great city of Manchester.
The rooms are thoroughly cared for by Samantha and Jennifer, two local ladies who have grown up with and around the Wheatsheaf.
In the evening, the girls and boys Edward, Matthew, Harriet, Samantha and Jennifer will look after your dining at the Wheatsheaf – all with pretty and happy smiles.
Hazel is our part time bar staff who will serve you our finest Ales.
