B&B Yorkshire Dales

Open to both residents and the public is our non smoking, tastefully refurbished, candlelit bar area. This retains its traditional characterful atmosphere, which is “chameleon like” in that it is ideal both as a great venue for a quiet bar meal and drink in the early evening, but also, at other times, is a splendid environment for the village teams along with numerous other local events for example charity evenings. Basically a good place to meet the locals for those minded to mix a little later and to enjoy some good beer.

During the week the bar thrives with many local activities - our teams perform in ladies and mens darts leagues and in dominoes (not one but two teams) and the Wheatsheaf in Carperby is the hub that an inn must be for all the villages public celebrations and other occasions.

Along with a good range of soft drinks lagers ciders and smooth flow there are three top order cast conditioned ales each with a distinct character and individual following. We are the only B&B in the Yorkshire Dales to serve Websters Yorkshire real ale  alongside Theakstons and Black Sheep as this bitter meets our locals specific tastes.

In between the residents lounge and the public bar there is an intimate snug area,home of the inns’ prized collection of silverware, trophies and even a county cap! This is a good area for a quite chat over a ploughmans lunch or even for a baby asleep in a carrycot. Yes children are welcome too.
