The Wheatsheaf Inn and pub is a core part of community life in the village of Carperby being supported and much appreciated by a strong local trade.
Add to this our excellent all-ensuite accommodation and you begin to build a picture of a relaxing and convivial venue for your break.
We care about all our customers - residents, locals and day visitors. All should enjoy high standards in the service, food, ales and hospitality that we offer.
It is our experience that our locals enjoy meeting our guests and we know too, that many guests appreciate the vitality of our busy bar. But there is space for those who prefer more tranquility.
It was at The Wheatsheaf in 1941 that James Herriot and his wife, Helen, spent their honeymoon. In his book he describes how much they enjoyed the warm hospitality and excellent food.
Today it is still a family owned Inn with proprietors Paul and Carol Mitchell offering the best of local cuisine and comfort.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Wheatsheaf Inn very soon.
